    2018-06-17 King of the Hill
King of the Hill is a game of revolving people pushing someone else off the hill so they can be on top. It can certainly get rough with all the pushing and shoving. Spiritually, we have a tendency of playing that same game with The Lord. We need sin forgiven so we put Him on top to handle that. Then we subtly bump Him off as we take control of our own life. Eventually we discover that He really needs to be, and deserves to be, Lord of our whole life. It’s much the same way with our Dad’s and other authority figures. We want (and take for granted) their protection and provision. But we don’t want their control when it disagrees with our feelings and desires. Yet life works best when we understand The Lord God’s flow of authority He has designed within the marriage/family, the church, at work, and even in government. If we are going to trust Him with the huge importance of Eternal Life, why won’t we trust Him with our life on this earth?
