Wreaths Across America

We have two very special serving opportunities coming up Saturday, December 15th at the Georgia National Cemetery. The first would be
unloading semi’s, stacking the boxes, unpack and staging the wreaths, ready for those who will be laying them on the graves. You will need to be at the Cemetery’s Welcome Center at 6:30am with work gloves, dressed for the cold, and wearing shoes that are comfortable for walking and can get/stay wet.
The second is the actual laying of the wreaths ceremony and honoring the soldiers. It begins at 11am but volunteers would need to be as early as possible because of the limited parking. There is a formal ceremony at Noon.
To volunteer for either service please sign up in the foyer and see Julie for more information.

The Manger Service

“His Coming & He’s Coming”
The Manger Service
December 16th – 10am

The Manger Service is not a pageant, but thought-provoking ideas of what God was doing in bringing His son Jesus The LIGHT of the world, into this world. We have tried hard to make Christ Jesus the center of this day as we seek to set the stage for your Christmas season. The setting does not get much more simple than a rendition of a pen-type stable built in the middle of our auditorium. And in the middle of it, a hand-built wooden manger that could be found wherever sheep are fed. And then, in the middle of it, no baby, but a single candle representing Jesus.
We will begin with worship in low lighting and transition to complete darkness for about 15 minutes while the story of Christ’s coming is shared. The darkness will be amazingly dispelled as a lone candle is lit in the manger. For many, the darkness is uncomfortable until they realize it actually enhances their imaginations and perceptions of Christ’s great gift in coming into our world.
Childcare is available for children through Third Grade. We encourage parents to use their own judgment about their child’s ability to endure the darkness.
Following the message, all will be given the opportunity to remember Jesus in the way He asked to be remembered; Holy Communion. On this day we invite those that can, to partake on bended knee at the manger; whether by yourself, with your family, or with others that have made a difference in your life. If you wish to continue your worship with the heart of the Wise Men, you may also place your gift in the manger as you get up. We will conclude with the lighting of individual candles.

Tickets for seating are FREE, but NECESSARY because of the darkness, and in order to have adequate seating. See Angie, Karen, or Julie in the church foyer.

Ladies Lunch Bunch

We are so excited concerning December’s event! Rhonda will be in charge and right now it will be December 20th, 11:45 AM, Rafferty’s in Kennesaw. We are to bring a wrapped gift, something that we already have (do NOT go out and buy anything), for a White Elephant Exchange.  It should be a lot of fun and Rhonda will have all the rules.  If you do not want to participate in the Gift exchange do NOT let that keep you from joining us for the meal.

Branches Sticker

The Marketing Team has designed a sticker for you to have for your car, truck, boat, bike, skateboard or wherever you want to show it off. They are FREE at the Branches Welcome Center. You will notice www.15-five.com on the bottom of the sticker. That’s the verse that Branches was founded on, and it’s an easy, shorter way to remember how to get to us online.
We hope that this will let you show off how much we all love our Branches family. We want people to know that at Branches, you can B-real, B-belong and B-believe.
