Here are some of the special programs that we have once a year. Most of these are designed specifically for a certain group of students within the ministry based on age, gender, or maturity.
Each year we take a weekend retreat as a sort of extended O@sis. The idea is to leave the pressures of school, home, and life in general behind and just spend some time relaxing, having fun, and focusing on one aspect of our walk with Christ. We live together, sharing the responsibilities of cooking, cleaning up, setting up for devos, and generally being a family.
One key ministry we partner with is Christ In Youth . They have a number of programs that we take part in. The foremost is the Summer Conference move . Each summer we take 10 to 14 High School students to experience God in some amazing ways, such as personal quiet times each morning, dynamic musical worship at different times during the day, small group Discipleship groups, elective classes, and incredible speakers. It is the highlight of our summer, and some would say our whole year.
CIY also has a great program just for Middle School students. It's called Believe, and it's a weekend mini-conference designed to challenge younger teens to take their walk with Christ seriously. The Spring conference offers great worship, fun and moving dramas, innovative presentations, and of course lots of fun.
We also participate in a week-long program for our Middle Schoolers. It's summer church camp at North Georgia Christian Camp in Clarkesville, Georgia. NGCC is a stripped-down, few-frills camp designed to help teens have a good time without all the bells and whistles. But the best part is that our younger teens get to spend a whole week away from home focusing on their relationships with each other and God.
